About Us

Artist and illustrator Una Joy set up Paper Bird Publishing following many years working as a card buyer for bookshops. Her own work forms the basis of the collection along with a growing number of works by other artists and designers.

The beautifully designed backs provide information about the artists and have a bookmark detail of the image. The cards are all printed on high quality, subtly textured FSC approved board and are cello wrapped with a simple white envelope. Cards come in 150x150 mm, Prints in 30x30 cm. Artists biographies

Andrew Palmer MA (RCA)

Andrew Palmer MA(RCA) is a contemporary artist living and working in Cornwall. His dramatic, emotionally charged paintings skillfully capture the light and atmosphere of the wild Cornish coast.

Mark Jessett

Mark Jessett is an abstract artist based in Devon. He studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London, and specialises in making works on paper. Exploring relationships between colour, texture, translucency and opacity, Mark creates paintings that are absorbing and uplifting.

Una Joy

Una Joy is a London based painter and printmaker. Her delicately layered atmospheric images and calligraphic drawings come from a preoccupation with seeds and particles, transformation and transience.

Brigid Calderhead

Brigid Calderhead explores the natural landscape through abstract painting. She captures an essence of the varied shapes and colours we travel through using mixed media, ink, acrylic and graphite on card and canvas.

Linda Litchfield

Linda Litchfield studied textiles at Goldsmiths College, London. She uses stitch and knit to create work with a strong narrative content, frequently incorporating text from old postcards and other found materials.

David Vallade

David DrawsDavid has been described as an artist who wears a french hat. He studied illustration at Camberwell College of arts. He loves drawing wherever he goes, capturing and celebrating the little things in life.

Liz Dalton

Drawing is at the foundation of Liz Dalton's art practice. She harnesses her emotional response to the world around her to create paintings and prints with a simplicity of composition and striking use of colour.
